About the Event
The Community for Conscious Aging and The Jung Center are excited to present A Look at our Racial Conditioning by Cherry Steinwender of the Center for the Healing of Racism. Steinwender will lead a Zoom discussion to aid participants in searching deeply into their minds, souls, and hearts in order to better understand how we came to be in the divided spaces we are currently within.
A grass-roots nonprofit, the Center for the Healing of Racism began in 1989 with the mission of facilitating the healing of racism through education and dialogue in a safe and supportive environment in order to empower individuals and transform communities. The Center works with counselors, social workers, various municipal agencies, faith-based groups, and corporate America, as well as students from elementary through college and university levels.
Facilitator: Cherry Steinwender is the executive director of the Center for the Healing of Racism and has been with the nonprofit since its beginning. In 2013, she received the Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace Award, which is given to a person who works to further the ideal of world peace. She will be joined by Joyce Steensrud and Melissa Lews.
