About the Event
Aging offers an exciting opportunity for growth and intentional living, for leveraging experience, and for continual learning, says Dr. Khanh Nguyen, facilitator of CCA’s popular monthly workshop, Foundations of Health.
“What a doctor wants you to know” is Dr. Nguyen’s theme, along with her belief that "everyone is an expert and has something to teach.” Group discussion is a partner with her medical knowledge in this series, and drop-ins are welcome.
Nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management through the practice of mindfulness and meditation and memory issues were some of the topics in July and August discussion. Each session includes a brief meditation, a short medical topic, and a general Q&A on specific issues that participants would like addressed.
Facilitator: Khanh Thi-Thuy Nguyen, MD, FACP, is an associate professor in medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson
Cancer Center. She interned in combined internal medicine and psychiatry and is trained in mind-body medicine interventions.
